Explore Sailing STEM CLUB

The Explore Sailing STEM Club brings science, technology, engineering, and math to life through the exciting world of sailing! Designed for 6th-8th graders, this hands-on program, led by US Sailing REACH STEM-certified instructors, engages students in real-world applications of STEM concepts. Participants will measure sails, explore local waterways, investigate buoyancy, race on sailing simulators, build wind anemometers, design and test boats, and more—all while developing problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive environment. This after school program is ideal for sailors looking to supplement their on-the-water training or middle schoolers eager to dive into sailing for the first time. The Explore Sailing STEM Club provides a strong foundation in both sailing and STEM principles, to give participants a deeper understanding of the how and why of sailing. Students who enjoy this program can take the next step by registering for Explore Sailing Camps or joining The Foundry’s Middle School Developmental Racing Program to continue building their sailing skills and confidence on the water!
