2025 Summer rowing CAMPS

Summer Rowing Camps are instructional camps that familiarizes  rowers with the riverfront and provides an introduction and advancement in the sport and fundamental rowing skills. Participants will learn in the campus classroom, in the state-of-the-art indoor rowing tanks and on the water.

 

The Foundry is offering camps for both Middle School students (grades rising 6th-8th) and High School students (grades rising 9th-12th).  

 

All camps run Monday through Thursday.

The cost is $375 per session and is due at time of registration.

Learn to row 

No experience necessary, this course is the introduction to the sport of rowing and the first stepping stone for new  (6th -12th grade) participants to start rowing on the water. Participants will get a taste of sweep rowing, coxing, and sculling, by building foundational rowing skills & knowledge through on-land & on-water instruction that they can apply to other camps.

Intermediate Sweep

This camp is to further refine skills after Learn to Row. This course focuses on the sweep discipline of rowing & helps participants build proficiency & make corrections in a slower paced safe supportive environment. The goals is to help athletes build proficiency in rowing full strokes on the feather in 8+’s & introduce them to rowing in 4+’s.

Beginner Sculling

This camp is the first step in the sculling progression after Learn to Row. This course focuses on immersing participants in the sculling discipline, building, practicing, & reinforcing basic movements & safety commands in sculling boats, & helping athletes progress their confidence & proficiency in rowing full strokes on the feather in 4x+’s/4x’s/2x’s & wide singles.

intermediate sculling

This camp is the second step after Beginner Sculling and is intended for newer intermediate athletes that have foundational skills & are comfortable being in a small boat & competent in their ability to perform basic safety commands in singles. This camp focuses on getting athletes into smaller singles and help build their balance, awareness, and proficiency in rowing and operating in them safely.

The Foundry provides instruction by a certified coach, professionally maintained boats, insurance, a safety fleet, safety gear, and administrative support.​
