A Community Program for Anyone to Try Sailing! 

Experience sailing on Lake Erie aboard one of The Foundry's 33-foot keelboats during our 90-minute Discovery Sails! Discovery Sails are a fun and accessible way to experience sailing in Cleveland. Designed for those curious about sailing but not yet ready to commit to a full program, this is a low-cost, low-pressure introduction to life on the water. In a small-group, beginner-friendly environment, you'll learn basic sailing concepts alongside an experienced captain. No prior experience or formal swim competency is required, just a sense of adventure. Advance online registration is required and closes the Friday before each session. Capacity is limited to a maximum of 6 sailors per sail, with a minimum of 2 required. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult, and all participants must complete a general waiver and emergency medical release prior to participation. Program details, including FAQs, contact information, and directions, will be sent the day before your sail.
